Pakistan sends Type 905 replenishment oiler PNS Nasr to help Türkiye

With a displacement of 22,099 tons when fully loaded, PNS Nasr is capable of carrying a significant amount of fuel, water, and other supplies to sustain naval operations for extended periods.

At 171 meters in length and 21.8 meters in beam, the Type 905 replenishment oiler is a large and imposing vessel. She is powered by a Sulzer 8RL B66 diesel engine, which provides a total output of 13,000 horsepower, enabling her to reach a top speed of 18 knots (33 km/h; 21 mph).

With a range of 18,000 nautical miles (33,000 km; 21,000 mi) at 14 knots (26 km/h; 16 mph), this vessel is capable of traveling long distances without refueling.

The Type 905 replenishment oiler is designed to provide a range of essential services to naval fleets. She has a capacity of 10,550 tons of fuel oil, 1000 tons of diesel, 200 tons of feed water, and 200 tons of drinking water. This makes her an indispensable vessel for sustaining naval operations and ensuring that ships remain operational for extended periods.

The ship is also equipped with a range of advanced sensors and processing systems. These include a Kelvin Hughes 1007 navigation radar and an SPS-66 radar navigation radar.

She also has a Thales DR 3000 ESM and SRBOC Mk 36 chaff launcher, as well as two Rheinmetall MASS launchers for electronic warfare and decoy operations.

The Type 905 replenishment oiler is armed with a range of defensive weapons, including a Phalanx CIWS, two twin 37mm guns, and two 12.7mm machine guns. She also has the capability to carry and launch one Aérospatiale Alouette III or Westland Sea King helicopter from its flight deck and hangar.
