The PLA's naval drills involved several of its most advanced warships, including the Type 055 10,000 ton-class guided missile destroyer Yan'an and the Type 052D guided missile destroyer Hefei.
These exercises spanned multiple sea regions and encompassed a range of training activities, from anti-submarine warfare to live-fire shooting exercises.
One notable segment of the drill saw the Hefei detecting and intercepting aerial threats, demonstrating the fleet's readiness against both air and sea challenges.
The exercises also emphasized coordination between vessel-borne helicopters and ships, with the former conducting reconnaissance and the latter engaging in tactical assault formations.
Amid rising tensions in recent months, the US and the Philippines are currently participating in the 12-day Exercise SAMASAMA near Luzon, Philippines.
