The partnership will focus on developing a navigation system that will improve collision avoidance and utilize artificial intelligence for mission planning. This will help fleets of unmanned vehicles synchronize operations and respond quickly to emergencies. These technological advancements could be used in vessel navigation, search and rescue missions, environmental monitoring, and naval operations.

NTU Singapore and Naval Group aim to leverage NTU’s Centre for Advanced Robotics Technology Innovation and Naval Group's knowledge in naval engineering. They hope to bridge the gap between academic research and industrial application, turning research into practical solutions.

Naval Group & Singapore

In 2021, Naval Group inaugurated a Centre of Excellence in the city-state. This Centre quickly embarked on three pivotal R&D projects that year, all centered around advancing maritime safety and security.

Tapping into both Naval Group's technical prowess and Singapore's vibrant R&D environment, initiatives included the creation of a chat-bot for vessel operation, an IoT-based crew health monitoring system, and a software simulator.
