According to a PR published by Kongsberg Discovery on Febrary 9, 2024, the entity has secured a significant 24-month contract with the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) to support the U.S. Navy's efforts in developing a prototype for the Large Displacement Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (LDUUV). This collaboration could enable the Navy to incorporate HUGIN Endurance and HUGIN Superior AUV systems into its operations.

On February 1, 2024, Huntington Ingalls (HII), the largest military shipbuilding company in the United States, announced the completion of the sea trials for the amphibious transport dock ship USS Richard M. McCool Jr. (LPD 29). The San Antonio-class vessel underwent testing in the Gulf of Mexico to evaluate its operational readiness and system functionality before its expected delivery in the spring.

The AW159 Wildcat, presented at WDS 2024 by Leonardo, serves as a multi-role helicopter with a focus on naval applications. It evolves from the Lynx helicopter, incorporating new technologies and capabilities based on military experiences in maritime and land operations. Designed with a compact frame, the AW159 is intended for operations from single spot decks, emphasizing its ship/air interface capabilities.

On February 2, 2024, the Malaysian Ministry of Defense announced the reception of at least four G2000 Mk II Fast Interceptor Craft (FIC) vessels by the Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM) from the Malaysian company Gading Marine. This procurement is part of Malaysia's efforts to enhance its maritime defense capabilities in the Eastern Sabah Security Zone (ESSZONE), which was established in response to the 2013 Lahad Datu standoff.

According to information released by the US Department of Defense on February 9, 2024, the Expeditionary Sea Base (ESB) USS John L. Canley (ESB 6) entered San Diego port before joining the active fleet on February 17. A commissioning ceremony is planned at Naval Base Coronado and at Naval Air Station North Island in San Diego.

During the World Defense Show (WDS) 2024, the China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), a state-owned entity, showcased the Type 075 landing helicopter dock. The WDS, known for bringing together key players from the international defense sector, provided a backdrop for CSSC to display the latest in naval engineering from China.
