According to information published by the Russian press agency TASS on May 14, 2021, the Admiral Golovko frigate of project 22350 will join the Russian Navy in 2020, Northern fleet Commander Admiral Alexander Moiseev told a briefing.

Project 22350 frigates will comprise the backbone of the blue-water force of the Northern fleet. “We shall receive another warship next year. It is named after Northern fleet Commander Arseny Golovko,” he said.
The frigates have made long sorties and confirmed the characteristics. “They will increase the characteristics as modern weapons are accepted into service,” he added.
The Admiral Golovko, Russian designation project 22350 is a new class of frigates built by the Severnaya Verf in Saint Petersburg for the Russian Navy. She was designed by the Severnoye Design Bureau and incorporates the use of stealth technology. The lead ship, Admiral Gorshkov was laid down on 1 February 2006 in Severnaya Verf shipyard in St. Petersburg and commissioned on July 2019. The new ship is designed for multiple roles. She is capable to execute long-range strikes, conduct anti-submarine warfare, and carrying out escort missions. The Admiral Golovko frigate was launched in May 2020.
The Admiral Golovko is fitted with 3D air search radars, Puma fire control radars and sonar suites with hull-mounted LF sonar and LF VDS sonar. They are also equipped with Garpun-BAL SSM targeting and SAM control systems. She is also equipped with Prosvet-M electronic warfare suite and decoy systems PU KT-308, PU KT-216, and 5P42 Filin.
The Admiral Golovko is armed with one 130 mm Amethyst/Arsenal A-192M naval gun, 16 UKSK VLS (Vertical Launching Systems) cells for Kalibr, Oniks or Zircon anti-ship cruise missiles, 32 Redut VLS cells for 9M96, 9M96M, 9M96D/9M96DM(M2) and/or quad-packed 9M100 surface-to-air missiles, two Palash CIWS (Close-In Weapon Systems, and eight 330 mm torpedo tubes for Paket-NK anti-torpedo/anti-submarine torpedoes, and two 14.5 mm MTPU pedestal machine guns.
The Admiral Golovko frigate has a length of 135 m, a beam of 16 m, a draught of 4.5m, and a displacement of 5,400 tons maximum. She is powered by combined gas turbine and gas turbine (COGAG) propulsion systems including two 10D49 cruise diesel engines developing 5,200 shp (3,900 kW) and two M90FR boost gas turbines developing 27,500 shp (20,500 kW) driving two shafts. The ship can reach a top speed of 29.5 knots (54.6 km/h) with a maximum cruising range of 4,850 nautical miles (8,980 km) at 14 knots (26 km/h). She has a crew of 210 people. The ship is also equipped with a flight deck and hangar able to accommodate one Ka-27 naval helicopter.
