In front of more than 800 exhibitors and delegations from all over the world, Navantia presented the success of a very demanding program in terms of deadlines, technology, and scope.

The program has involved building and launching five ships in a period of three years at the Bahía de Cádiz shipyard, as well as technology transfer in the field of systems and training of crews and maintenance personnel with the support of the Spanish Navy. The next important milestone in this program is the delivery of the first unit, scheduled for 31 March.

During the event, Navantia signed agreements with local companies to consolidate the local industrial ecosystem with a view to supporting the life cycle of the corvettes, with the Zamil shipyard and with Advanced Electronics Company (AEC), a company that is part of SAMI, Navantia's partner in the SAMINavantia joint venture.

The visitors were also able to see the Avatar Immersion Tool, one of the tools of the Navantis family (Navantia Integrated Training System) used for crew training at the Navantia Training Centre, as well as another of the simulators of this family, which is used to train the maneuvers for lowering the RHIBs from the corvette.

The technological display included a presentation of the systems in a command and control center and demonstrations of Tele assistance, an R&D developed by Navantia for the remote maintenance and operation of ships.

Navantia also exhibited the programs underway for the Spanish Navy, with an augmented reality model of the F110 and a mapped image of the S80. Next to them, the LPD configurator and models of the AOR and the 'concept ship' SMART 4000, a 3D printed model that shows the conceptual design of a ship of the future.

The Saudi Arabian variant (Avante 2200) is a 2,000-ton class vessel capable of performing anti-submarine warfare (ASW), anti-surface warfare (ASuW), and anti-air warfare (AAW). The Al Jubail-class corvette has a maximum range of 4,500 nautical miles, achieving 25 knots powered by four diesel engines in CODAD arrangement.
