Judging by what was shown and announced, they are a kind of long-range torpedoes that are launched into a certain area and float until they detect and hit the target.

Accordingly, they differ from ordinary torpedoes by their low speed, but much greater range. In general, it looks like the underwater equivalent of a kamikaze UAV to defeat low-speed surface targets.

This new torpedo may be of great use to block the Persian Gulf, and a few hundred or a few thousand of these torpedoes into the sea could be a danger for the civilian ships of the Arabian peninsula countries.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is a branch of the Iranian Armed Forces, founded after the Iranian Revolution on 22 April 1979 by order of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.

Whereas the Iranian Army defends Iranian borders and maintains internal order, according to the Iranian constitution, the Revolutionary Guard is intended to protect the country's Islamic republic political system.
