According to a PR published by FN Herstal on August 31, 2023, the Belgian firm has introduced its latest Multi Weapon Mount, which has secured full MIL-STD certification. This innovation will be showcased for the first time at the imminent DSEI 2023 event in London.

The FN® MWM is strategically designed to cater to the dynamic demands of the battlefield, allowing for swift adaptability. It's tailored for both ground and naval platforms, with a unique weapon interface that can be modified in mere minutes to accommodate various weapon calibers.
These range from the hefty 12.7x99mm NATO (.50 Cal) machine guns like the FN® M2HB-QCB to medium ones like the FN MAG® 58M/infantry and FN® M240, right up to the 40mm MK19 AGL grenade launcher.
This state-of-the-art mount has been meticulously crafted through a partnership between FN Herstal and FNH UK. It incorporates a hydraulic buffer system to guarantee optimal performance irrespective of firing angles or conditions. Notably, the mount is entirely mechanical, eliminating any reliance on the carrier's electrical power. It's also compatible with a myriad of additions, from ballistic protection to link and case collectors.
Its versatility extends to deployment possibilities. While the FN® MWM is fit for both wheeled and tracked vehicles, its naval counterpart, the FN® Sea MWM, is adept for challenging maritime conditions.
Key specifications
The FN® M2HB-QCB is a robust weapon, weighing approximately 70 kg (154 lb) inclusive of ammunition. This .50 cal weapon features a full-automatic firing mode, delivering a firing rate between 485 to 635 RPM.
The FN MAG® 58 Infantry/ FN MAG® 58M/FN® M240 is a 7.62x51mm NATO caliber machine gun. With a firing speed ranging from 650 to 1,000 RPM, it weighs around 48 kg (105 lb) when fully equipped with ammunition. Moreover, its ammo box has the capacity to hold up to 2 x 200 rounds.
The MK19 stands out with its 40mm HV caliber, capable of firing at a rate of 325 to 375 RPM. Once armed with ammunition, the weapon's total weight comes close to 80 kg (176 lb).
Each weapon system offers added adaptability with options like shoulder bars, and they can be enhanced for safety with ballistic protection that meets standards ranging from STANAG Level I to IV.
