This advanced system is engineered to conduct air and missile defense operations against various threats including anti-ship missiles, both armed and unarmed unmanned aerial vehicles, cruise missiles, fighter jets, and helicopters.

The Göksur system utilizes the Bozdogan missile, a defensive missile developed and updated by Tubitak-sage in accordance with the air defense needs of naval platforms.

With its modular design approach, the Göksur Air Defense Missile System provides a solution in three different configurations. The system boasts numerous features, including 360-degree Threat Destruction Capability, New Generation IIR Seeker Head Guided Bullet, Multiple Target Prevention Capability, Independent or Integrated Platform Operation, Mid-course Guidance with Data Link, and High Single Shot Kill Probability.

The primary objective of the system, which will be a counterpart to the U.S.-manufactured RIM-116 Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM), is to eliminate anti-ship missiles targeting naval platforms in flight.
