The Royal Moroccan Navy (RMN or Marine Royale Marocaine in French) is the maritime force of the Armed Forces of Morocco.
Its mission includes the protection of Moroccan territory and sovereignty, as well as the control of Morocco's 81,000 square nautical mile Exclusive Economic Zone. The Royal Moroccan Navy has undertaken a large modernization effort with the procurement of very modern Frigates and OPVs. The RMN is set to become a major naval power for the Northern African Area. The Royal Moroccan Navy has about 12,000 personnel and about 50 vessels of all types.
