South Korea's presidential office has expressed doubts about North Korea's recent claims regarding the testing of an underwater nuclear weapon system. According to Kim Soo-yeon of the Yonhap news agency, the South Korean government is considering the possibility that North Korea's assertions are exaggerated and fabricated. Even though the Ukrainian armed forces already inflicted very heavy losses on the Russian Navy initially deployed in the Black Sea area, forcing it to carefully move farther from Ukrainian reach, Russia has increased the number of missile carriers in the Black Sea to two, with a total salvo of 16 Kalibr missiles, Ukrinform reports echoing the Ukrainian Naval Forces on Telegram.

Cutting-edge Royal Navy missiles – recently used to shoot down multiple hostile drones in the Red Sea – will receive significant enhancements through an upgrade programme. Indeed, MBDA has received three contracts worth around £400 million to boost and sustain the Sea Viper principal area air defence system of the Royal Navy’s Type 45 destroyers. Two contracts, called Sea Viper Evolution, will enable the Type 45 Destroyers to defend the Carrier Strike Group against anti-ship ballistic missiles (ASBMs). Meanwhile, another contract will provide an extended and enhanced in-service support (ISS) contract for Sea Viper for a further five years. MBDA is the prime contractor and design authority for the Sea Viper weapon system, including the sensor (radar), the command and control system, and the missile.

American and British forces have recently carried out multiple airstrikes (and it is likely not yet over) on Houthi positions in Yemen in an attempt to halt their attacks in the Red Sea.
